London Concertante was formed in 1991 and has become one of the finest music ensembles in Europe. With enviable critical acclaim for stunning performances throughout the world, we are fortunate to be able to feature their octet, which is a first for the Worcester Concert Club.

Gary Ryan will give a guitar workshop for aspiring performers of all ages. Participants will pay £3.50 but have a free entry to the afternoon recital. Observers will have free entry to the workshop on production of a ticket to the recital or a membership card.

Gary Ryan is one of the world's leading classical guitarists. He has been captivating audiences with his exceptional virtuosity and creativity as he did here in Huntingdon Hall in 2007. He scored very highly in our 'favourites' survey and we are delighted to welcome him back again.
The programme will include works by Isaac Albéniz, J S Bach, Benjamin Britten, Fernando Sor, Francisco Tarrega and Gary Ryan.

Deyan Sinadovich is one of Serbia's most exciting pianists. He has become a familiar figure on the international concert scene since coing to prominence at festivals in Germany. He played at Huntingdon Hall in 2007 and enchanted his audience with his extraordinary ability to communicate both musically and emotionally.

Joanne Quigley & David Quigley
David and Joanne Quigley are a brother and sister violin and piano duo from Northern Ireland. They have a natural sense of ensemble due to having played together since they were children. Their 2008 Worcester Concert Club concert was a tremendous success and they scored extremely highly in the 'favourites' survey.

David Wright & Chris Grist
David Wright's musical career began relatively late. He had his first piano lesson and learned to read music at the age of 16. Since leaving the Trinity College of Music as a prize-winning student, he has become a distinguished soloist and accompanist, performing throughout the UK. His recording of the Goldberg Variations has won critical acclaim. See his full biography here, more info at the British Harpsichord Society and this YouTube clip.
Chris Grist studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has since had an exceedingly varied career performing throughout the UK and Europe as orchestral musician, chamber musician and recitalist. As a chamber musician, Chris is cellist and founding member of Metamorphosis chamber group and principal cellist of London Concertante. He has performed throughout the country as soloist and chamber musician.

Oboeworks, led by Imogen Triner – one of the foremost oboeists in the country – is returning to Worcester by popular demand, but this time as a quintet rather than a quartet. As part of a lively programme, they will be playing a composition by former Worcester Concert Club chairman Derek Smith.
