We are happy to announce an additional concert to our regular season, taking place on Sunday 19 April 2026 at 3.30 pm in Henry Sandon Hall, when locally based musicians will perform Bach's Brandenburg Concertos 3, 4, 5 and 6.

The Rautio Piano Trio

Since the release of their acclaimed debut album of Mozart Trios in 2016, the Rautio Trio has become one of today's leading chamber ensembles, celebrated for refined artistry and powerful performances.

Currently, the Rautio is recording the complete cycle of Beethoven Piano Trios on fortepiano with volume 1 receiving five stars in BBC Music Magazine.

Craig Ogden

Craig Ogden has been described as “a worthy successor to Julian Bream” and “a natural heir to John Williams”. He is recognised as one of the world's foremost classical guitarists renowned for his virtuosity, artistry and stylistic versatility.

On this return visit, Craig will play works by Baroque composers Marin Marais (1656-1728) and Rameau (1683-1764); twentieth century works by composers of Spanish guitar music Torrobo (1891-1982) and Llobet (1878-1938) and works by Tunisian guitarist and composer Dyens (1955-2016), and Piazolla (1921-1992) Argentinian Tango composer.

Taiwanses violinist Chu-Yu Yang is one of his generation's premier interpreters of British violin music. His performances are praised for their 'sophisticated lyricism' (The Strad).

Pianist Eric McElroy has performed throughout North America and Europe and has been praised for his stunning virtuosity.

Their programme includes two works by our Patron Ian Venables.

With fond memories of a wonderful concert in February 2025, we welcome back The Gould Piano Trio and the distinguished clarinetist Robert Plane. In addition to great works by Brahms and Mendelssohn, we will hear “The Rising of Sirius”, a work by Piers Hellawell commissioned by the group. A programme full of colour and contrast

Consone String Quartet

The first period instrument string quartet to be selected as BBC New Generation Artists, the Consone String Quartet are known for their honest and expressive interpretations of repertoire, notably from the Classical and Romantic eras. They perform at major venues throughout Europe and North America.
